She started her musical career sitting behind the drums in a Punk Rock underground band in New York City as she's developing her song writing skill at home or as she's studying in Berklee College of Music although briefly. She came back to Indonesia in 2005 then released her self produced debut solo album in 2011 self titled Jemima which have gotten rave reviews. Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine named the album as second best album that year, She was the only female solo artist ever received the privilege. Nationally, the album along with it's several singles released have received much praise and awards. Local medias call her "The Indonesian Soul Queen." By mid 2012, she released a single that was available for free download titled Sinner’s At Work which was produced along side Ilman Ibrahim of Maliq N D’essentials.
